Punta Cana 2010

We had an awesome time on our Spring Vacation and this was the pool just outside our hotel building where we spent most mornings.

This was how we spent our evenings, after dinner there would be a "MiniDisco" for the kids on stage and this girl would have all the kids participate in various dances and games.
In the evening we would dress for dinner and eat at one of the resorts a la carte restaurants, this was Mexican night.

After our morning at the pool we would go to the beach restaurant in an open air dining space which had an amazing buffet and of course our favorite beverage of the week was the Banana Mama...Molly's was of course without rum but just as tasty!

After lunch we would head to the beach and spend our time bobbing in the waves and playing in the sand. Molly loved to make sand castles on her legs and watched them get washed away by the waves.

The water in Punta Cana was the most beautiful colour with it's sandy bottom and no weeds, I would have to say it is the best ocean front I've ever swam in.

Molly spent some of her time just standing watching all the teenagers play in the water. There was about 400 students on their Spring Break Grad trip at our resort. This was definitely not our favorite part of the week but we tried not to let it get to us.
Family shot at the beach. We are so white we glow but who cares we just love being there. Time to start working out...Will and I are not too pleased with ourselves and our size but we are going to start working on that after all these beach shots.

Molly trying to fill a moat for her sandcastle but the sand just kept soaking up the water...she must have made about 30 trips to the water...UGH!

Molly sporting her new bikini on our first day, I am so glad she wore her surfer shirt because she didn't really burn except for her nose...phew!

Well that is a little peak into our Spring Vacation.
Sorry for not posting very often but work and Molly keep us all very busy.
Life is good and we are happy and loving each other and enjoying each day as it comes.
Thanks for checking in...K

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays everyone. This is our very pathetic Christmas Tree this year. As we have a new addition in our family who spent most of his time at the top of the tree we decided to keep it to a minimum and not tempt him once the tree was fully decorated. So there are no pretty pink and purple glass balls and no crystals to come crashing down.
Santa was very good to Molly and we had a quiet Christmas morning this year. Molly was very sweet and enjoyed handing out the gifts to mom and dad as much as she enjoyed opening hers.
We are blessed with a special little girl and we count our blessings with this little angel that has been bestowed upon us.

The holidays are a tough time of year for many and I'm not immune from the holiday blues.
Christmas was always very special for me growing up and much of that had to do with my mom so not having her here with us is always going to be hard for me. I started telling Molly about the things I used to do with my mom and the tears just started pouring down and it occurred to me that I haven't really talked about her that much to Molly and that made me even more sad. I had the best years with my mom and really I just miss her not having her Nana more than anything else.
I went to visit Catherine, Eric and Elizabeth over the Holidays and it seems that my mom was a bigger part of their life when they were young than she would ever be to her own Granddaughter and that made me very sad. Eric even had a stuffed animal my mom had given to him when he was young still in his room and that was very touching for me to see.
OK I'm done...can't think about this anymore!!!
I'm out...k

December Update

I can't believe we are almost ready for Christmas Holidays. It's a busy month for everyone and it's not not any different around our place. The snow is here and I'm feeling the spirit with the Christmas music on in the background. Molly and I are home sick today so I have some found time to catch up on my blogging. I have my Aunt and Uncle coming today for the weekend and I'm looking forward to their company. They are not blood relatives but my mom and dad's childhood friends that became part of our family through the years. Not having my mom for the holidays is always going to be tough for me as she always did it up right. Molly is treated like their 5th grandchild and for this I am truly grateful as Will and I don't have our mothers around for this special time of year.

My dad's birthday is this weekend and I have arranged to have extended family join us for our regular Sunday breakfast. Here is a picture of Molly and him at the restaurant last weekend.

Molly and I went to the ballet for the first time and we really enjoyed the Nutcracker. It was really special for us to do this together, I hope it becomes a tradition.

We got a new outfit for Molly for the ballet and for Christmas and as you can see she didn't take long to try it on. She sat down at the door and got undressed to try it on immediately, bare legs and all!

Molly enjoyed one of her birthday gifts a couple of weeks ago and did her nails all by herself...lol
Thanks Katie...good thing it peels right off. She loves it!

Molly hanging out with her daddy in his big ugly van. I can't believe that thing is still in my driveway....i bet the neighbours love to see that everyday!

There is a little update from our house.
Enjoy the snow everyone!
Thanks for checking in...K
PS...please send your healing prayers and thoughts out to my sweet friend who is in the hospital.

Our New Baby Boy

Our new little monkey boy who still remains nameless. Molly has been calling him Spooky but that is just not it for me...it's too Halloween-ee!

He looks like a Quinny to me but Will does not approve, I don't think!

But he sure is cute and very snuggly!

Clowning Around

Molly crashes after 2 hours of trick or treating....we had to cut her off finally at about 8:40pm
Molly was a very cute clown, if I do say so myself.
Make-up is done and we are ready to go.

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween.

Monstrosity Layout!

Here's a little layout I did today using the Saturday Sketch from the Paper Passion. I'm also entering Dorrie's RAK contest using Monstrosity. If only I knew how to post photos onto a thread in the forum....HELP!
